Introduction With the increasing longevity of cats, neoplastic conditions are now identified more frequently in practice. Surgery is often the mainstay of treatment for many feline tumors and the first chapter guides the reader through the principles of surgical oncology, including the necessity for staging, and discussion on guidelines of margins of resection with different tumor types. Multimodal or neoadjuvant treatment can be advantageous for some tumors, and the following two chapters on radiotherapy and chemotherapy aim to give information on which tumors may be responsive to these types of therapy.
