A disease of protein loss via the kidney caused by an increase in glomerular permeability
Diagnosis 
Differential Diagnosis
• Glomerulonephritis (renal protein loss)
• Amyloidosis (renal protein loss)
• Protein-losing enteropathy (gastrointestinal protein loss)
• Hepatic disease (ill thrift, hypoproteinemia; decreased production of protein)
