Clinical Presentation
Disease Forms/Subtypes
• Most often affects the distal semitendinosus muscle with occasional involvement of the gracilis, biceps femoris, and semimembranosus muscles.
• Unilateral signs are most often caused by trauma, although early peripheral neuropathy is still possible.
• If bilateral, consider an underlying denervation or myopathy.
