Normal Posterior Segment Anatomical Structures
The fundus lacks a tapetum but is highly reflective. Fundic pigmentation varies with fiber color and areas of nonpigmented areas can be found in light-colored animals with white markings. The retinal vascular pattern is prominent with three to five pairs of vessels originating from the optic disc (Figures 67.2a, 67.2b, and 67.3).
