10 Acute red eye and pain

The majority of causes of acute red eye are also associated with varying degrees of pain. Ocular pain is typically associated with blepharospasm, excessive lacrimation and photophobia. These signs are likely to be more subtle in cats than in dogs, and enophthalmos may also be seen in the latter species.
